The Patient Services Representative is our “admissions processor expert”, and first impressions of Orleans Community Health! The Patient Services Representative is responsible for the registration of patients and processing/resolution of registration reports. This position also managing the switchboard and communicates with internal and external customers. This position requires a drive for helping people, an extremely high level of organization, with the ability to prioritize on a daily basis. A vital part of our Admissions Team, this position must demonstrate professionalism in both dress and speech, along with proper phone etiquette and a positive attitude.
Keyboard experience (40-60 wpm).
High school diploma; supplemented with one (1) year of related medical office experience.
Successful completion of an accredited medical office training program may be substituted for the required one (1) year of medical office experience.
Professional in attitude, conduct, and appearance.
Able to calmly and effectively handle any emergency/drill/disaster procedure.
Knowledge of various insurance requirements and medical terminology.
Verbal and written communication skills with strong interpersonal/human relations skills.
Ability to maintain a positive attitude in the workplace.
Ability to approach problems/decisions analytically.
Ability to maintain acceptable production and quality assurance standards according to department policy
Ability to maintain confidentiality
