Orleans Community Health held a reception on February 19 to recognize the wonderful community support for National Wear Red Day on February 7 to help raise awareness of women’s heart health. Cardiologist Dr. Syed A. Shah presented an overview of risk factors contributing to women’s heart health. Dr. Shah is a consulting cardiologist at Medina Memorial Hospital and Orleans Community Health of Albion. Nadine Hanlon presented a proclamation on behalf of the Orleans County Legislature declaring National Wear Red Day. People all across the county supported National Wear Red Day on February 7 to raise awareness that heart disease is the number one killer of women, causing one in three deaths – one every minute.
